Ms. Altaffer is an Attorney and Co-Founder of Altaffer & Chen PLLC.
Ms. Altaffer is a bilingual attorney with extensive experience in both the United States and China. She brings a unique international perspective and a deep commitment to personalized client service in the areas of estate planning, probate, and immigration law.
Prior to relocating to Texas, Ms. Altaffer practiced law in Shenzhen, China, for several years, serving as long-term counsel for corporations. In that role, she provided strategic legal advice and represented clients in complex litigation and transactional matters.
Ms. Altaffer is licensed to practice law in Texas by the Supreme Court of Texas. She is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Texas.
Ms. Altaffer focuses her practice on estate planning, wills, trusts, and probate, guiding clients through the creation of comprehensive estate plans and efficiently navigating the probate process in Texas. She also maintains an active immigration law practice, assisting individuals and families with a wide range of immigration matters throughout the United States.
Previously, Ms. Altaffer has successfully represented clients in civil rights cases brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, including a notable matter before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit (see Turner v. Driver, 848 F.3d. 678 (5th Cir. 2017)).
Ms. Altaffer graduated from University of California Davis School of Law with an LLM degree. She earned her Juris Master degree (certified equivalent to JD) from China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing, China.
Ms. Altaffer is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, enabling her to effectively serve clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Her international experience and broad litigation background allow her to deliver practical, results-oriented solutions tailored to each client’s needs.
